The Services We Can Provide
Chiltern Development Training Ltd offers several options for school minibus drivers. We can arrange training/assessments for schools – Bucks County Council testing, Minibus Driver Risk Assessments, MiDAS and D1 acquisition courses.
Our DSA qualified fleet trainers are available to assist in all areas of driver training for your organisation. This can take the form of a single driver assessment for someone who is just about to start or maybe someone who has been promoted and now has to drive during the course of their work. Or on a larger scale we can help the management of the organisation to set up and implement a complete work related road safety policy. If you are responsible for people who drive in the course of their work it is vital that you understand your responsibilities.
MiDAS is the Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme, organised by the Community Transport Association U.K. (CTA) which promotes a nationally recognised standard for the assessment and training of minibus drivers. It is a membership based scheme that has been designed to enhance minibus driving standards and promote the safer operation of minibuses.
PATS provides a nationally recognised standard of training to people whose role it is to provide care and assistance to passengers travelling by road. Following the MiDAS modular format, PATS training is available throughout the UK. PATS is used to assess the training needs of staff performing the role of passenger assistant on a vehicle. These people may be paid staff, or volunteers and they may be performing the dual role of driver/carer.
Anyone who passed their driving test after 1997 will not have an entitlement on their licence to drive a minibus. They will have to take the Driving Standards Agency D1 test to have this added to their licence. We have trainers who can help them through the theory and practical tests they need. We are currently working with Bucks County Council and several local schools providing them with testing and assessment facilities for their employees such as teachers.
Providing training and advice to help you to manage your Occupational Road Safety in the most economical and compliant way.
